Lymington is in the New Forest, on the river leading out into the Solent and opposite the Isle of White. The house is within level walking distance, approximately ¼ mile, of the town centre shops and restaurants. There is a heritage railway between Brockenhurst and Lymington and a car and passenger ferry to the Isle of White. Lymington has an award winning museum and is 18 miles from Bournemouth and Southampton, with main line stations at Southampton, Brockenhurst and Bournemouth with a local Lymington connection.
